RhythmJuice Instructors – The Beta Line Up

Dax Hock (Swing)

DaxAlice.JPGDax Hock is a total Lindy Hop Junkie. In other words, a Swing Dance fanatic, and very passionate about anything that has to do with the Early Jazz era; dance, music, life-style, attitude and nice suits. His life has revolved around swing for the past 10 years, which is quite different then saying he has been dancing for the past 10 years. The subtle difference is that he has seriously danced, performed, thought and taught Lindy Hop full time since 1998. This a little over ⅓ of his whole life, dedicated to a this dance and community. Here someone living the Lindy Hop lifestyle; a true pure blood in search of his roots.

Alice Mei (Swing)

portrait_05Alice started dancing at the age of 4. After 10 years of studying Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz dance daily, she tried out other styles of dancing such as african dancing and flamenco when she eventually met her true love, Lindy Hop! Ever since she has since been touring and teaching full time living the adventurous Lindy-Lifestyle.

Alice is definitely at her happiest when she is swingin’ it on the dance-floor. You will most likely hear her giggling from the other side of the room when she is social dancing. Alice enjoys keeping her dancing simple and natural. It seems like her silliness has reached enough people since she won the “dancers choice award” in 2006 and the “competitor choice award” in 2008 at ULHS. She has won several titles in prestigious competitions such as ULHS and ALHC. In class, she teaches the same principles that she cherishes as a dancer and she mainly focuses on keeping things simple and in rhythm. Alice is a member of the Ninjammerz with which she performs and competes regularly.
