Q: Do you offer free lessons or a free trial?
A: Yes! We offer some free lessons and will change them up to keep it fresh. There is no free trial period for premium membership, but it is free to become a member and you can get a clear idea of what is in the learning environment and participate in the free lessons.
Q: If I purchase a monthly membership, can I upgrade it later?
A: A quarterly or annual membership will start the day after your monthly membership ends. We won’t pro-rate or upgrade memberships but you can easily purchase a new plan for the up coming months.
Q: Can I downgrade my paid membership to a free membership without losing my profile?
A: Absolutely. The only thing that will change is you will loose access to the actual lessons and learning material that you were using, but everything will stay organized just as you left it for when you are ready to continue with a premium subscription.
Q: How many teachers do you have?
A: Please take a look at our teachers page. Click here to find all of our RJ teachers.
Q: What dance styles can I learn on RhythmJuice?
A: We comprehensively cover the genre and provide lessons for Lindy Hop, Charleston, Vernacular Jazz Dancing and will continue to add teachers and content until you can learn everything swing you desire. For more information see what we teach.
Q: Why do you offer only Authentic Swing Dancing?
A: Currently we are focusing on our first dance community which contains mostly Lindy Hop and Authentic Swing Dancers. Our goal is to put total focus into one genre at a time so we can create a great learning experience, and a community that reflects the real dance swing dance scene. In the future we will try to expand in a similar way to avoid creating something that might not represent the real dance scenes we are trying to help.
Q: When will you add other genres of dancing?
A: We can’t say right now for sure exactly when it will happen, but the next genres to bring on are most likely going to be Tap Dancing and West Coast Swing.
Q: Do you ever add new lessons?
A: Yes, we add new lesson every 1-2 months, sometime more often and as the teachers list grows more will come at a faster pace. Right now the site is currently loaded with enough content to last the average learner about a year. Over all teachers will keep the learning environment filled with thier freshest content and the most recent version of their fundamental idea. So when things improve for a teacher, you will be the first to hear about it.
Q: How long are your lessons?
A: Lessons are anywhere from 3 – 40 chapters long. Chapters range from 1-8 minutes on average, but it really depends on the lesson. Example: The Big Apple lesson is 37 chapters long, and breaks down the whole 4 minute routine. A social variation might only have 3 chapters and cover only 1-2 8 counts of material. Lessons are more about organization then length, so what ever makes sense to help you learn is what you will find in a lesson.
Q: Can I ask instructors questions?
A: Yes. Every lesson is a social environment where you can post questions for the teachers and other members taking the lesson. How much attention you get will probably depend on how much work you are doing on your dancing and how committed you are to a teachers lessons. Right now, things are pretty free form, and teachers are eager to help everyone get better at dancing.
Q: Do I need anything special to watch your videos?
A: You will need a computer, an internet connection, firefox’s web browser and the newest flash plugin.
Q: Can I watch lessons anytime?
A: Of course, anytime, and as much as you want. What ever it takes to get you to improve and have fun. This is the RhythmJuice advantage.
Q: Why can’t I download lessons?
A: Two main reasons:
1) RhythmJuice is not selling content. Instead we offer a subscription to a learning environment where you have access to all the learning tools inside. It is sort of like a gym membership. When you go to the gym, they don’t let you take home a treadmill. On the flip side this creates a much more exciting opportunity. It allows teachers to always add new stuff, ideas, and take down old videos that they no longer wish to show. This makes RJ lessons all about quality, instead of flooding the site 100’s of cheap lessons with slight variations in an attempt to sell lots of videos.
2) Your teachers are compensated based on how you use lessons. If you download a lesson, and view it offline, we don’t know how effective it is and we won’t know how to take care of the teachers accurately. Your cooperation with this is essential to making the worlds best teachers want to keep providing you with new exciting content. On top of that, illegally downloading lessons off the site is basically like stealing from the teachers directly and really harmful to everyones opportunity to continue to learn from them. RhythmJuice will not be owning teachers content, so if a teacher feels that people are stealing content they might decide to no longer provide it.
Q:Will RhythmJuice work on both Mac and PC?
A: Absolutely.
Q: How do I cancel my membership?
A: Login, go to “edit profile” and click the Cancel Membership button. It is completely hassle free and automated.
Q: Is there a money back guarantee?
A: No. However, there is a FREE membership profile, and FREE lessons to give the site a complete test run without paying.
Q: Do I need a partner?
A: No, we have also created lessons targeted for solo practice. However, having people to work with will enhance your learning experience and RJ is set up to help you find them.
Q: What if I have never danced before?
A: Then RhythmJuice is the ideal place to get started. You can learn, meet people, and get socially involved within minutes. If you find that lessons are too difficult, just ask one of our teachers to create some easier lessons, and they will make it happen as soon as possible.
Q:How can I teach on RhythmJuice?
A: If you are interested in being an actual RJ teacher who provides premium content, please contact us using the form.
Q: If I am a local dance teacher, can I use RJ content in my local classes.
A: Yes. If you are a local teacher, it is possible to use RJ lessons and content to help you teach your local dance classes. This is called local integration, and we have a complete system set up to help you with it. To find out more, please click here.
